Aboriginal Training Team
Lisa Raven, is now the lead trainer for the aboriginal team, and the Executive Director at Returning to Spirit since 2012. Lisa has been training and delivering workshops with Returning to Spirit since 2006. She lives in her home community of Hollow Water First Nation in Manitoba. Her background is in forestry management.
Since experiencing the Returning to Spirit process herself in 2004, Lisa has been committed to sharing the gift of reconciliation, forgiveness and personal freedom with others. Through her positivism and facilitator skill, she has helped to transform many lives over the years. "I am inspired and honoured to help people become less 'stuck' in their lives, and have witnessed the courage and grace of so many people willing to move forward."
After participating in the 2003 community workshop at Canoe Lake Cecilia attended the Winnipeg Reconciliation and took the training program in 2005. She was the first chairperson of the RTS Board from 2006 to 2009. As a certified trainer with the RTS program she has traveled extensively to deliver workshops. She has personally experienced the impacts of the Residential School on her family and community, and also the remarkable shifts possible through the RTS work.
With a Bachelor of Education (U of Saskatchewan), and a Certificate in Career and Community Counselling (U of Regina) Cecilia has a breadth and depth of experience in education, childcare, community wellness, counseling and community health research. She has training in Fetal Alcohol Syndrome; Life Skills coaching; and leadership and been a member of the Canoe Lake Board of Education and the Canoe Lake Parish Council.
